Is it possible that Pink Floyd’s album really is the second best in the USA?

It depends on what you mean by best I guess. It is rather subjective and what I may consider to be best, then you may think is rubbish and vice versa. If we look purely to facts and figures though, would looking at actual album sales tell us who has the best album?

The best selling album worldwide is Thriller from Michael Jackson with over 110 million sales. This completely overshadows the number 2 which is Back in Black from AC/DC with 45 million sales.

After that the next few look like this:

• Meat Loaf - Bat Out of Hell 43 million
• Eagles - Their Greatest Hits 42 million
• Various Artists - Dirty Dancing 42 million
• Whitney Houston - The Bodyguard 42 million
• Andrew Lloyd Webber - Phantom of the Opera 40 million

• Bee Gees - Saturday Night Fever 40 million
• Fleetwood Mac - Rumours 40 million
• Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon 40 million

So, as you can see from these figures, Pink Floyd comes joint 7th along with 4 other albums.

But you can decide for yourself …. is Pink Floyd’s second best album in the US … or is it joint 7th …. or does it come way down your list?

Pink Floyd’s Second Best Album in the US

Jules Asner was born in Tempe, Arizona on Valentine’s Day, 14th February 1968.

Asner was born Julie Ann White, the daughter of Lee White, a furniture saleswoman. At the age of sixteen Jules was discovered at a modeling convention in Scottsdale, Arizona. She began her career as an Elite model.

Jules and Cindy Crawford shared a bunkroom in the early years of her modeling career. In 1986, Jules graduated from McClintock High School in Tempe. She has earned a degree in politics and journalism from UCLA. In her early 20’s she was briefly married to Matthew Asner. In 2000 she was romantically linked with Nomar Garciaparra while he played for the Boston Red Sox. On May 10, 2003 she married movie director Steven Soderbergh. Soderbergh often credits Asner with influencing his female characters

Hmmm. A certain theme is emerging on The Late Show with David Letterman. Earlier this week, Howard Stern went on a tear about how Letterman was “the host we want to watch” in late-night. 

Then last night, Julia Roberts said, after a particuarly good Letterman ad-lib, “You are so much funnier than other people who talk at this time of the evening.

Sarah and Todd Palin each individually issued statements slamming Letterman. Todd called the joke as discussing “rape” with his 14 year old daughter.

Sarah Palin says the joke was “sexually perverted” and “disgusting”. She also said Letterman’s joke that she looked like a “slutty flight attendant” as “pretty pathetic”. Letterman in the above response said he thought the flight attendant joke was actually pretty good.

David Letterman apologizes for the bad Palin joke. Under fire for a bad Palin joke last week, David Letterman has apologized to Gov. Sarah Palin and her supporters. But it seems that the group behind firedavidletterman.com urging CBS to fire the late show host are not happy and contented. The group says its still not enough.

On Letterman’s CBS Late Show tonight, Letterman says he’s sorry about a monologue earlier this month in which he joked that New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez impregnated Palin’s daughter during a game. Letterman has said he intended the joke to be in reference to Palin’s 18-year-old daughter Bristol, but Gov. Palin actually attended the game with her 14-year-old daughter Willow. Some critics have accused Letterman of joking about statutory rape.

He concluded, “I’m sorry about it and I’ll try to do better in the future.”

However, the Los Angeles talk radio host behind the group firedavidletterman.com says Letterman’s apology falls short.

Samsung SC Dx205

MMA’s Adrenaline III Bragging Rights at the BJCC Arena in Birmingham, Alabama was held Saturday night (June 13), with the main bout between former UFC champion Tim Sylvia and former WBO World heavyweight boxing champion Ray Mercer.

We’d normally tell you to skip ahead to the video at this point if you don’t want to know the results, but it’s hardly worth the bother. Perhaps backing the controversy surrounding the match, Mercer knocked out Sylvia in not just the first round or the first minute, but the first ten seconds.

Ray Mercer gives away his game plan and lays the pressure down on Tim Sylvia at the Adrenaline III press conference:

“It’s all going to boil down to who is a real man and who is going to do what we said we was going to do. We are going to get in there and he can kick and all that. I ain’t going to be kicking or nothing. I’m going to be doing boxing.”

If the fight does hit the floor, however, Mercer claims he is up for it:

“I’ll do MMA, MCI, AT&T, I’ll do all of it,” Mercer said. “Anything he wants to do I’m ready.”

Tim Sylvia threw one kick then Mercer threw a right that connected and put Sylvia straight to the floor.

Tim Sylvia VS Ray Mercer Video

The Pittsburgh Penguins are the Stanley Cup Champions after beating the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 last night. There will be a big parade in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the upcoming hours but expect it to be a low budget affair. Pittsburgh mayor Luke Ravenstahl who was hoping for the Penguins to lose said: “The Steelers’ championship parade cost us roughly $6.5 million in street closures, float rental, security expenditures, and sanitation overtime—not to mention the incalculable loss of man-hours for our struggling local businesses.” “Pittsburgh can’t afford to forget how the four Super Bowl parades we had in the 1970s were followed by mill closures, layoffs, and a decade-long recession. Let’s go Wings!”.

well This players done well job at all and they are deserving the honor in form of parade, but mayor is not happy with the cost of this parade.

Pittsburgh Penguins Parade

Map Pack 2 is officially released today, bringing three new multiplayer maps and a brand new zombie map to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

Along with the new Corrosion, Sub Pen and Banzai maps, players will have an all-new zombie mode to try out called Shi No Numa. It translates as ‘Zombie swamp’ and as you can imagine, takes place in an outdoor setting for the first time. Changes include all new weapons such as the type100, Wunderwaffe-d2, Perk machines (which are now random), Traps and flaming hell hounds.

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to have a jungle map with waterfalls and hidden caves, then you need to check out Banzai map. Your aim is to battle for control of the river bridge. Corrosion is yet another cool map; there you will face your enemy in a train yard. The other map in this new map pack is Sub Pens, while caught in a monsoon; you will have to battle to try to take over a bombed-out submarine base.

The new map in Zombie mode is Shi No Numa” (Zombie Swamp), and features Perk machines, one such machine is the Wunderwaffe DG-2. Well you had better get downloading, what perfect timing for the weekend.

Shi No Numa (Zombie Swamp) is just like the regular zombie maps except 4 new things:

1. The Wunderwaffe DG-2-which is a Stg44 combined with a raygun, that has vapire vison(see through walls)

2. Flaming Hell hounds- Dogs from hell. duh. o yea there on fire.

3. IMPERIAL ZOMBIES!!!

4. Trophies

Multiplayer Maps 

Banzi (Americans vs. japan). Banzai takes place deep in enemy territory as players vie for control of a tall bridge over a river

Corrosion( Nazis vs. Russia):  players journey to Russia to do battle in a dilapidated train yard. 

Sub Pens (america vs. Japan)features are close-quarters firefights in a bombed-out submarine base.

The new map pack will be priced at either 800 MS Points on 360 or $9.99 on PSN in US.
